The Psychosis Research Center officially received its preliminary approval from the Ministry of Health and Medical Education on October 18, 2015 (26 Mehr 1394). It began its activities in May 2016 at Razi Psychiatric Teaching Hospital with the aim of conducting scientific and applied research in the field of psychosis and other major psychiatric disorders.

The Center strives to contribute to the advancement of knowledge on mental disorders by relying on a highly qualified workforce, fostering collaborations with other academic and research institutions, and securing both internal and external research funding. In addition, it seeks to play an active role in developing scientific resources and expanding understanding of the characteristics of mental disorders across the fields of basic sciences, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation.
